WELCOME!!!

Welcome to Impact Gymnastics! Below is information to help you prepare for your first day at Impact. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

What to Expect for Class

To help classes run safely, smoothly, and efficiently, please review the following expectations before your child's first class.

What Should My Child Wear?

Students should wear comfortable athletic clothing or a leotard that allows them to move freely.

  • Clothing should be fitted appropriately for gymnastics and should not be excessively baggy.

  • Shirts should be tucked in or fitted securely enough that they do not fall over a child's face or eyes when the child is upside down or moving.

  • No jeans, dresses, skirts, or attached skirts on leotards.

  • Students should have their hair pulled back and secured away from their face.

  • Hair ties are available for purchase at the front desk for $0.25.

  • Students participate in gymnastics barefoot to prevent slipping.

Personal Items & Water Bottles

We do have water fountains; however, a water bottle is recommended. Water bottles should be clearly labeled with the student's name and kept in the designated cubbies rather than brought onto the gymnastics floor. This allows for a quick water break during class without taking up too much instructional time.

All additional personal items, including phones, jewelry, wallets, toys, and other belongings, should be left at home whenever possible. If a student brings personal items to the gym, they should be placed securely in a bag and stored in their cubby.

Impact Gymnastics is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. Students are responsible for keeping track of their personal items.

For safety reasons, jewelry should not be worn during gymnastics and should be removed before participating in class.

Arrival & Attendance

Please arrive on time for your child's class. Arriving on time allows your child to get settled, find their group, and prepare for a successful class. Late arrival often leaves the child feeling flustered and unsure of the directions given to the class. We strongly encourage parents to escort children in and out of the facility.

Teachers will take attendance at the beginning of each class and update it at the end. Students should remain with their assigned group and follow their coach's instructions throughout the class.

Parent Viewing & Coaching

Parents and guardians are welcome to watch classes from the designated lobby or balcony viewing areas (except Baby & Me and Parent Tot classes).

To help coaches maintain a safe and focused learning environment, parents and guardians should not coach, redirect, or give instructions to their child during class.

While a parent's intention may be to help, directions from multiple adults can be distracting to the student, instructors, and other children in the class. It can also create a safety concern, particularly when a coach is giving instructions involving gymnastics equipment or movement.

Please allow the coach to manage the class and provide instruction. If you have a concern about your child's class, please speak with a staff member after class or contact the office rather than attempting to redirect your child from the viewing area.

Our goal is to create an environment where students can focus on learning, coaches can effectively teach, and everyone in the gym can participate safely.

If you have gymnastics or coaching experience and would like to coach a class rather than observe, please fill out the application on our website. We would love to have you join our team!

Class Advancement

Coaches will evaluate gymnasts for level move-ups four times a year; however, coaches are constantly watching gymnasts for readiness and will move them up when necessary. If you have questions or concerns, please chat with your child’s coach before or after class.

Team placement is based on a coach's recommendation; however, letting your coach know your child is interested in competitive gymnastics is helpful. Due to the competitive season, we only evaluate for our competitive teams in April/May.

If your child ages out of their class, please stop by the front desk to find a new age-appropriate class.
